SPA Facial

Relax. Cleanse. Tone. Exfoliate. Mask. Massage.

We all need an indulgent night in every once in a while. Taking time out for regular pampering treatments helps you to feel great and improves the look and feel of your skin.

Turn on your favorite music, pour yourself a glass of cold water or a cup of herbal tea or why not a glass of high-quality red wine, and settle into a relaxing facial that will rejuvenate and nourish your skin. Wrap your hair in a warm towel, use your natural skin-care products, and feel like in a fancy SPA.

What do you need?

For your pampering package keep these items within easy reach.

  • Muslin cloth or a face towel
  • Cotton wool pads
  • Hair band or a towel to wrap up your hair
  • Tissues
  • Facial oil
  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Exfoliating facial scrub
  • Face mask

Relax

Wash your hands. Sitting comfortably with your feet flat on the floor in front of a mirror, pour 3 drops of facial oil with a scent of essential oils into the palm of your hand, rub palms together, and hold over the nose. Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths to relax. Check the post on my DIY natural face oils with essential oils.

Cleanse

Apply a cleanser to your fingertips and massage into the skin with small, circular movements, paying attention to the chin, forehead, and around the nose. Do not forget your neck! Start under the jaw and work up towards the eye area. Remove the cleanser with warm water and a muslin cloth or face towel, starting at the forehead and finishing on your neck.

Tone

Apply a toner to a cotton wool pad and sweep the toner up over the jaw, across the chin, up to your cheeks, across the forehead and your neck at the end. Leave the toner on your skin for a few minutes to soak in.

Exfoliate

Apply an exfoliating face scrub to your finger tips and gently massage it into the skin using small, circular movements. Check out the post on my DIY all-natural oats and honey or avocado and honey scrub recipe. Start with the jaw and move up to the forehead and finish with the neck. Avoid the delicate eye area. Let the scrub sit for a couple of minutes before removing it with warm water and a muslin cloth or face towel. Remove all the traces of the exfoliating scrub.

Apply a mask

Apply a mask to your face with the fingertips or a clean foundation brush, starting with the jaw and moving up to the forehead, leaving the eyes free from the mask. Leave the mask on for about 10 minutes, just as it feels it’s beginning to tighten. Remove it before it completely dries out, otherwise it can cause irritation and dryness. Remove the mask like you did with exfoliation scrub and dab gently with a clean towel to dry the skin.

Massage

Apply a facial oil onto your palm, warm it between the hands and sweep up the face from the jaw, around the eyes, and up over the forehead. Repeat 3 times. Using your ring fingers, gently draw spectacles around the eyes, starting from between the eyes and working out towards the ears. Repeat 3 times. Gently pinch the eyebrows, starting from between the eyes. Using flat palms and a firm pressure, iron the forehead from brow to hairline. Sweep your fingertips up the face from the jaw, around the eyes, and over the forehead. Repeat 3 times. Apply facial oil to your fingertips, and sweep up your neck. Use upward strokes from your neck up to the jaw. Blot excess oil with a tissue. The more massage you allow yourself to have, the better you will feel. A massage is healing, de-stressing and relaxing.

Relax

Dink plenty of water to hydrate the skin and flush out toxins. Enjoy the natural feeling and the effects the Spa facial had on your skin.

You do not need to go to an expensive SPA to enjoy reviving and revitalizing treatments. Pamper yourself with these simple techniques and natural creams, oils and extracts that lift the spirit, nourish your skin and make you feel fabulous all over.
